Do I look like someone who...
Do I look like someone who is good at road directions?
It's very funny cos I often get people asking me for directions, and other questions as well.
On the bus, uncle asks me: 小妹，这辆巴士有没有到Jurong车头? (means does this bus ends at JE interchange)
At the MRT platform, auntie asks me: MRT 搭这一边对不对?
On the MRT, lady asks me: Admiralty MRT 是不是下一个站?
At Bedok interchange, a couple ask me: Where's the shuttle bus to IKEA? (I have no idea!)
At IMM, lady asks me: Daiso which floor huh?
At supermarket, auntie asks me: 帮我看这个多少钱，我不会看英文咧?
I remembered, even when I was travelling in Hong Kong and Shanghai, people ask us for directions too. (of course I don't know the way lah)
Just some examples...
If I know the way, I'm more than willing to help. Maybe there should be more signs and labels around and preferably written in Chinese too?
Where's the toilet huh?
... ...

Mushrooms from Kin Yan Agrotech
I love mushrooms. These are various mushrooms bought from Kin Yan Agrotech. They are grown at their own mushroom farm. Each packet (150g) costs $3.00. The herbal jelly costs $10 for 3. You can order from home with a minimum purchase of $30. Delivery is free.

Dinosaurs at Science Centre and Wii at Omni Theatre
Brought my nephew to the Science Centre to see the life-sized animatronic model of the dinosaur at the entrance. The Dinosaurs Alive Exhibition is until 31 Aug 08. We didn't buy the tickets to go in cos I don't think he's old enough to understand the exhibits inside.
We walked to the Omni-Theatre and to take a look. Went to this shop and discovered that there's a mini children play area inside. There a little table for children to play Lego and a Wii Sports game for shoppers to try. There are 5 sports games: tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing. It is very fun and addictive for me who love to play video games. I wish I could carry the whole set home. Haha!

Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Grading Exam
These are some examples of the test papers for the Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Grading Exam.
This is Mental calculation - Grade 2 (the lower the number, the higher the level).
Have to calculate 10 "2 digits x 2 digits multiplication" and 10 "4 digit ÷ 2 digit division" questions in 3 minutes, mentally.
This is Abacus calculation - Grade 6 (the lower the number, the higher the level).
Part 1: Have to calculate 10 questions, each have to add and subtract "15 rows of numbers with decimal places", in 10 minutes, using the abacus.

View from Roof Terrace at Esplanade
I recently upgraded my library membership to a Premium Membership. It costs $21.00 per year. Now I can borrow 8 items, including up to 4 DVDs, VCDs, Video Tapes and CD-ROMs. Yes! Now I can borrow movies, live concerts, PC games and educational softwares for my nephew too. :)
So I went to the Esplanade Library which has quite a good collection of movies especially. Borrowed a movie and a live concert DVD. Actually hor, this is only the second time I went to the esplanade library since its opening in 2002. Haha!
And while I was browsing in the library, I saw people standing at the rooftop. How did they get there? Curious, after I left the library, I looked for the escalator leading up the roof terrace and... this was what I saw! Great views of the city and the new Singapore Flyer.
It was quite quiet, considered it was a weekend. Maybe not many people know about this place. Only some tourists, and couples here and there. Quite a good place for couples and friends gathering (during good weather of course lah).
